LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A special meeting is expected to be held tonight for the Southeast Bullitt Fire Protection District Board.

The board is expected to vote to void the contract with the Southeast Bullitt Fire Department, and a vote to take back what belongs to taxpayers, including fire stations, equipment and other property.

The Fire Protection District collects about $1 million in taxes each year and turns over the money to the Fire Department for service.

Fire Chief Julius Hatfield is under investigation for insurance fraud and abuse of public trust. He is on paid leave.

The meeting is at 6:30 at the main firehouse.
