LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man they say stole a cell phone from the loan officer he was trying to get a loan from.

Kevin Bradley Gunning, 25, was arrested on the afternoon of New Year's Day in the 1000 block of Oakcrest Court, near Manslick Road. Police say the theft occurred on Dec. 16.

According to official police records, Gunning stole a cell phone from an employee at the Park Community Credit Union. Police say that Gunning was at the credit union applying for a loan and that the victim was his loan officer.

Authorities say Gunning stole the phone when the victim left the office to make copies of paperwork.

Police records indicate that Gunning went and sold the phone on the same date as the alleged theft. Police say Gunning was captured on surveillance video and that he also provided his identification and fingerprint when he sold the phone.

The stolen phone was valued at $699. Authorities say Gunning admitted to taking the phone.

He's charged with one count of theft.
