LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A dog is recovering in Louisville after being hurt in a drive by shooting.

Pictures of Copper the dog were posted by the Arrow Fund on their Facebook page.

The male Border Collie-Aussie mix, suffered two gunshot wounds to his back and right rear leg.

After surgery at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital, vets say Copper is still not putting pressure on one of his feet.

They aren't sure if there is nerve damage or if the leg will have to amputated.

A witness to the incident told authorities in Ohio County -- south of Owensboro -- she knows who shot Copper.

It's not clear if Copper was the target.
