ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. -- The Ken
tucky State Police say they have arrested three people -- two of whom are charged with attempted murder -- after a Rineyville man was shot and robbed in his own home.

According to an arrest report, the robbery took place on Dec. 22, on Grassland Avenue, near S. Wilson Road and Deckard School Road, in Rineyville, Kentucky.

Police say 26-year-old Amber Compton of Elizabethtown knocked on the door, and when the homeowner opened it, 27-year-old William T. Akridge IV of Rineyville, and 25-year-old Sasha Williams of Elizabethtown, stormed in with handguns.

They allegedly ordered the homeowner into the bedroom, hit in the face twice with the handguns, then took $1,400 from him.

Police say they struggled, and Akridge shot him once in the leg.

Both Akridge and Williams ran away, but not before Williams fired a round toward the homeowner, missing him, but traveling through the kitchen ceiling toward a bedroom where an 8-year-old was sleeping, according to the report.

The two suspects then rejoined Compton, and together, they ran out the back door, police say.

Police say the trio also robbed the Basham Liquors Store in Meade County on Dec. 14.

All three suspects have since been arrested and are currently being held in the Hardin Co. Detention Center.

Williams and Akridge are charged with attempted murder, robbery, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Compton is charged with complicity to robbery.
