LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Power has been restored to Portland and Shelby County residents.

More than 1,200 people were without power in Portland for several hours.

LG&E officials say the outages stemmed from an equipment issue.

Power was restored around 4 Thursday morning.

Over 600 Kentucky Utilities customers reported power outages in Shelby County Wednesday night.

Shelby County dispatch said the outages were due to several transformers failing.

According to dispatch, that happened near 5000 Frankfort Road (US 60), just east of downtown Shelbyville.
