LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police say a suspect in a homicide that happened on Saturday was found dead from an apparent suicide, when officials tried to arrest him on Saturday night, according to LMPD Public Information Officer Dwight Mitchell.

George Tingler Jr. was a suspect in a homicide that happened in the 3100 block of Bank Street, in the Portland neighborhood. Police found a dead man inside a home and said his injuries were consistent with some type of altercation, but did not specify about what type of injuries the victim sustained.

Tingler was found dead inside a room at the Crest Motel in Clarksville, according to Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer. Authorities said they had received a tip regarding his location.

Chief Palmer said the Metro SWAT Team made a tactical entry into the room to try and apprehend Tingler. It was then that officials found that he had taken his own life.
