Southern Indiana hospital set to be sold at auction

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana hospital is going on the auction block.

Saint Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown filed for bankruptcy in 2012, when it reportedly held unpaid debts in excess of $8 million.

Charlestown officials hope Wednesday's auction will lead to a new owner and new chief executive officer for the hospital, which opened in 1976.

The Charlestown City Council has provided $450,000 to keep the hospital running until there's a new owner.
