LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man who forced his way into a home last month, put a gun to the owner's head and demanded cash is now in custody.

Lavon Brown plead not guilty to the charges. LMPD arrested him yesterday, nearly three weeks after he escaped house arrest. Brown had been put on home incarceration, but cut off his ankle bracelet.

"Sir, you are charged with Escape in the second degree, and there are several bench charges," the judge said. "Do you understand your charges, sir?"

"I don't understand the theft charge," Brown said.

"That's the HIP equipment," the judge replied. "They tack on a theft charge."

His bond was set at $25,000.
