LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing several charges after police say he assaulted one person and robbed three others at a St. Matthews home.
According to the arrest warrant, it happened Nov. 20, 2014, at a home in the 200 block of Clover Lane, near Westport Road and St. Matthews Ave. Police say 23-year-old Andre Leonard, along with two other men, showed up at the home "under the pretense of purchasing an iPad."
Instead of making the purchase, police say Leonard pulled a gun "and pointed it at the four victims that were in the home."
Police say Leonard and the other men demanded the victims' money and cell phones, but one victim refused to give them anything. That's when police say Leonard "became angry and pulled the trigger but the gun did not fire." Police say Leonard pulled the trigger over and over, but the gun wouldn't fire, so he allegedly hit the victim in the back of the head with it. That victim sustained a concussion and a laceration that required stitches.
After striking the victim, police say Leonard and the other two men grabbed the iPad and ran from the home. Through investigation, detectives were able to learn Leonard's identity, and two victims were able to identify him from photos.
Leonard was arrested Jan. 13. He's facing four counts of robbery and one count of assault. He is being held at Metro Corrections on $75,000 bond.
