Brandenburg man charged with threatening to blow up church, apartment complex

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Brandenburg man is charged with threatening to blow up a church and apartment complex.

The FBI, Brandenburg Police and Kentucky State Police were involved in the arrest of 45-year-old Shelly Wright. Investigators say in November, Wright phoned in a threat to blow up the Glad Tidings Church on Bypass Road in Brandenburg.

Police say 10 days later, he called in a similar threat to the Riverview Apartments.

Wright is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
