LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Eleven peacocks were stolen in the middle of the night and a local pet store owner is offering a reward for their return.

The owner of Pet's Palace on Goldsmith Lane says someone broke into his store over the weekend -- twice.

Eleven adult peacocks were stolen from an outside barnyard area that had netting over it.

Only a baby peacock inside the store was left behind.

"Whoever came to get these birds, this wasn't done spur of the moment. It was definitely planned out. They are obviously familar with birds, with the peacocks, with their habits. They knew exactly what they were doing," Pet's Palace owner Jay Hockersmith said.

He said peacocks are expensive birds.

He's hoping someone will give them back or will contact police if they know who has them.

The owner is offering a reward to get them back.
