LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they have arrested two Louisville men after they beat and robbed two people at gunpoint near U of L's Belknap campus.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on Friday, near the corner of S. 3rd Street and W. Bloom Street, just north of U of L's campus.

Police say they were dispatched to that location, and when they arrived, they were told by a witness that two black males approached two people and pointed guns at them, demanding money.

They also hit the two victims in the head, according to arrest reports, before jumping into a dark-colored Range Rover and driving away.

One of the victims had to be taken to University Hospital for treatment of a head laceration.

A short time later police say they stopped a Range Rover for a traffic violation less than a block away -- a Range Rover that matched the description of the one given by the victims. Two guns were found in the back of the vehicle, also matching descriptions given by the victims.

Police arrested 22-year-old William D. Sanderlin, IV and 22-year-old Ihmanuel C. Fields. Both men are charged with two counts of first-degree robbery.
