LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Mt. Washington man with an apparent inclination towards kitchen supplies has been arrested for shoplifting several items of merchandise, including a Keurig coffee machine, according to court documents.

It happened on Dec. 15 at the Kroger on Shelbyville Road, near Juneau Drive, according to an arrest warrant.

Police say 50-year-old Craig Smith walked out of the store without paying for several items of kitchen supplies. Those items included: a Corelle dinner plate set, a Keurig coffee machine, a kettle, a Chicago cutlery and a Kitchen Aid mixer.

The total value of the stolen items was $759.86, according to police.

Police say the incident was recorded on surveillance video, and a witness was able to recognize Smith as someone who had been stopped for shoplifting in the past.

A warrant was issued for Smith's arrest on Dec. 22, and Louisville Metro Police took him into custody on Jan. 16. He is charged with theft.
