LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been released from the hospital, following a brief stay just a few days before his 73rd birthday, according to a news release.

He was admitted to an undisclosed hospital earlier this week and was said to be in "stable condition" as of Thursday. According to a press release, he was undergoing "hospitalized follow-up care associated with the urinary tract infection for which he was previously being treated."

He was released on Friday, according to a press release from family spokesman Bob Gunnell.

It's not the first time Ali's been in the hospital this year. He was just released from a prior hospitalization on Jan. 7.
