LMPD searching for suspected serial robber

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have released surveillance photos of a serial robber who has been targeting convenience stores and gas stations.

According to police, the man pictured in the photos has robbed at least four gas stations since mid-December:
  • 12/16/14 Thornton's Oil 9600 Westport Rd.
  • 12/23/14 Speedway Oil 9416 Shelbyville Rd.
  • 12/24/14 Circle K 9901 LaGrange Rd.
  • 12/26/14 Circle K 9737 Old Third St. Rd.
He could be responsible for other robberies.

"In all the hold ups, the suspect enters, immediately approaches the victim, produces a weapon and demands the business cash and flees," Sgt. Josh Carr told reporters.

Police say before December 26, the suspect wasn't wearing a cast but on the December 26th robbery, surveillance pictures show a hard white cast on his right hand.

Police have checked with area hospitals for information but now, they're asking for the public's help.

"It's obvious on the time frame he would have received the injury Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. The last hold up in which he had the cast on his hand happened at 1 a.m. on the 26th so late Christmas Night going into the next morning so hopefully it will stand out to somebody."

Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 20 to 30-years-old, about 5'10", and weighing 165 pounds. Police say the suspect has worn ski goggles during every holdup.

Sgt. Carr says so far, no one has been injured during the robberies.

"No one has been hurt but robberies by nature are violent and the suspect is armed with a pistol so obviously, it's always our goal to capture him as fast as we can," said Carr.

If you think you recognize the man in the surveillance photos, you're asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD (574-5673).
