Ky. Attorney General's office to assist Sheriff's Department in Southeast Bullitt Fire investigation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Attorney General's Office is now assisting with the Southeast Bullitt Fire Department investigation.
The Attorney General's office says the Sheriff's Department requested its help.
Chief Julius Hatfield is under investigation for insurance fraud, abuse of public trust and other charges.
During Tuesday's Bullitt Fiscal Court meeting, the county judge executive made her first appointment to fill a vacancy.
"I have a lot of faith in Marty Brown, he is a man of integrity and transparency, and I know he's going to bring great things to the Southeast Bullitt Fire District board," Bullitt County Judge Executive Melanie Roberts said.
Attorneys are still at odds over whether Hatfield is still on this board after he withdrew his resignation.
He remains on paid leave during the investigations.
