Louisville Collegiate School makes another property purchase near campus

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville Collegiate School acquired another piece of property adjacent to their main campus.

According to the head of school, Dr. James Calleroz, Louisville Collegiate has now acquired the Yorktown Apartments at 2354-2538 Grinstead Drive.

This is the second property purchase by the school in the last five days after their purchase of the old Burger's Market property last week. That property was purchased through an LLC formed separate from the school.

The school paid $2.4 million for the Yorktown Apartments property, financed through a bank. The apartments will continue to rent until they come up with plans, with the rent paying down the debt.

“We are excited to acquire the Yorktown Apartment Homes,” said Dr. James Calleroz White, Head of School at Collegiate. “The purchase of these apartments, along with the old Burger's Market, is an investment in Collegiate for generations to come.”

Calleroz said in the next few weeks they will form a task force to figure out what they want to do with the property.
