LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Kentucky was pushed but never trailed in a 65-57 victory over Vanderbilt Tuesday night at Rupp Arena.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead and had a 7-point halftime lead. They led by as many as 12 in the second half but saw that lead dwindle to 3 before putting away the Commodores.

“The biggest thing is you're playing in league play now,” UK Coach John Calipari told
the SEC Network after the game. “Every game is going to be like this.
We've just got to play better offensively.”

The win was Calipari's 96
in 100 games at Rupp Arena.

“There's 19 draft picks that came through that time,” said Calipari. “That gives you an indication that you're not losing many and it's the same thing with this team.
I have terrific players and just trying to get them to go hard every day is a hard deal.”

Kentucky (18-0, 5-0) shot 50 percent from the field and made 9-of-24 3's (37.5%).
Aaron Harrison with 14 points and Dakari Johnson with 10 were the only players in double figures in another balanced attack.

Vanderbilt (11-7, 1-4) was led by sharpshooting Freshman Riley LaChance.
He made 3-of-4 from outside the arc and scored 16.

Kentucky hits the road for its next two.
They visit South Carolina Saturday at Noon and Missouri on January 29
before returning home to host Alabama on Saturday, January 31
