LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The driver of a car that collided with a Hardin County school bus in Radcliff early Thursday has been airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville.

There's no word yet on the extent of his injuries.

Bryce Shumate with the Radcliff Police Department says it happened shortly before 7 a.m. on 31W (Dixie Hwy.) between Vine Street and Mill Creek Road.

There were no students on board the bus at the time, and the bus driver was not injured, according to Hardin County Schools Community Relations Specialist John Wright.

Wright says the bus driver was driving northbound on 31W and pulling off the road into a parking lot before starting his second route when the car hit the back of the bus.

Traffic was very slow on Dixie Hwy. after the crash, with some lanes closed. Shumate says all lanes are now open.
