LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is facing serious charges after police say she wore stolen jewelry to a court appearance where she was spotted by the victim.
According to an arrest report, it all started on Dec. 30. That's when the victims told police two people had entered their home on Janlyn Drive in the Forest Hills subdivision, near S. Hurstbourne Parkway, and stole several items, including jewelry.
According to court documents, on Jan. 8, 29-year-old Tonya K. Odle sold several pieces of jewelry and a silver bar to DePrez Quality Jewelry. Police say she received $370 for the items. Pictures were taken of the items and shown to the victim, who identified the property.
Odle was arrested, charged with receiving stolen property, and ordered to appear in court on Jan. 20.
The victim was present during Odle's court appearance and noticed that Odle was wearing several pieces of jewelry that belonged to him. When he confronted Odle, police say she tried to hide the rings. A detective was able to retrieve the property from Odle and returned it to the victim.
Odle was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence. She remains jailed at Metro Corrections.
