More than 1,500 people show up at meeting to stop job cuts at Fort Campbell

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 1,500 people showed up at a meeting Tuesday night in support of keeping jobs at the Fort Campbell post in Kentucky.

An Army report shows the post could lose up to 16,000 soldiers and civilians -- that would mean a bigger loss to the surrounding community, where their spouses and children live.

"Military, that's the life they're used to," said Darlene Baldwin, "And it's going to be a big change for them if that happens."

The meeting was a similar to the one held at Fort Knox earlier this month to fight proposed cuts.
