LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police say a gunman walked into the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and asked for a surgeon by name before he started shooting.

Dr. Michael J. Davidson was shot twice Tuesday afternoon. He later died during emergency surgery.

Police say 55-year-old Stephen Pasceri then shot and killed himself.

The hospital was placed on lockdown.

"We were one of the first hospitals in the country to initiate broad scale training for all of our staff on the prospect of an active shooter somewhere in the hospital," said Ron Walls M.D.

While there's no confirmed motive for the shooting, there are reports Pasceri's mother was a former patient of Dr. Davidson's and she recently died.
