LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LaGrange police say a DUI suspect on the way home from jail stole a credit card and used it to reclaim his impounded vehicle.

According to a news release, the LaGrange Police Department arrested Russell Tindall on Jan. 15 for DUI and had his vehicle towed. Police say he was released the following day, and while walking home, he stopped at Greater Louisville Massage at the corner of E. Jefferson Street and N. 1st Street, in LaGrange, where he stole a purse.

When he got home, he used a credit card from the stolen purse to pay K&S Auto $155 by phone in order to have his vehicle released, according to the news release.

Police say that when they confronted Tindall, he was still in possession of the victim's purse and its contents, including $40 and multiple debit and credit cards.

He allegedly admitted to the crime.
