LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Another Republican has made his run for governor official.

Agriculture Secretary James Comer and running mate, State Sen. Chris McDaniel filed papers with the Secretary of State's office.

Comer promised supporters that he would take quick action to fix the state's problems should he win in November.

"Chris and I will present a bold agenda to the members of the General Assembly that will change this state forever in one legislative session," Comer said.

Former Louisville Metro Councilman Hal Heiner is also running, but has not announced when he will officially file.

Former Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott is the third Republican in the race.

The filing deadline is next Tuesday.
