LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -  There's a citywide challenge in Louisville to connect mentors with young people.

Mayor Greg Fischer hosted the "Be the One" Mentoring Fair on Saturday.

It's a year-long challenge to pair mentors with young people who need positive role models.

People had the chance to talk with organizations and find a program that worked best for them.

"Knowledge is power, and if you're helping the youth to be able to get to that next level because they don't, you know, have somebody there for them ... as much help as you can give to them is great," mentor Chad Douglas said.

The mayor's office and Metro United Way are partnering on the project.
