LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police arrested a man after officials say he falsely reported a robbery in order to cover up a theft he committed.
Jonathan Bush, 32, was arrested Monday afternoon at the Circle K store, located at 7201 Fegenbush Lane. Authorities say Bush was employed as a manager at the store and that he filed the report on Saturday afternoon.
Police records indicate that Bush initially called 911 and reported that a man armed with a knife robbed him while he was taking a Circle K deposit of $5,354 to the bank.
Police say that on Monday, a Circle K division manager began an internal investigation into the issue.
Investigators say Bush admitted during an interview with the division manager that he had staged the robbery in order to cover up the theft.
Bush is charged with theft and falsely reporting an incident. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
