Green Tree Mall looks to fill four store vacancies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Four different stores are leaving the Green Tree Mall in Clarksville, Indiana, and interest in filling the spots is high.

Mall officials say after a major renovation, they're getting interest from new retailers and think customers will be happy with the changes.

WDRB has learned that Body Central has closed after suffering some national losses. The store Deb has filed for bankruptcy and has also closed. PacSun's lease was up for renewal and will now be replaced by a Payless Shoes store. Children's Place is also closing, making way for a bigger retailer, which has not yet been being announced.

The regional marketing director for the Green Tree Mall says this means new options for shoppers. The director says the store closures provide an opportunity to improve retail offerings.

The mall was given a multi-million-dollar renovation in October. Officials say the upgrade has led to new interest from large retailers.

They hope to soon announce the new additions that will be coming to the Green Tree Mall.
