EKU football player hospitalized with injuries from bar fight
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Eastern Kentucky University says it is investigating an incident involving one of its football players who received significant facial injuries in a bar fight near campus at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
Colton Scurry, a 285-pound offensive lineman from Fayetteville, Ga., has been hospitalized with fractures and cuts to the face, according to multiple reports.
In a statement, EKU's vice president for communications Scott Cason said, “We are currently investigating information reported to us regarding a possible assault on one of our students in an off-campus location, as well as a possible related incident in Telford Hall that may have occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. We can not divulge the the name the students who may have been involved at this time. This is all I know at this time."
Multiple reports say several University of Kentucky football players were involved in the fight, but UK has had no comment. Richmond police said no complaint had been filed as of Tuesday night, and that no arrests were made.
