LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police arrested a man after they say he fired a gun during a domestic altercation.

Jacory Gough, 38, was arrested Wednesday morning, a little after midnight in the 2500 block of West Jefferson Street, near Green Alley and South 25th Street.

Officials say Gough was "unlawfully disciplining" his 16-year-old daughter, when the child's mother became involved in the situation.

Police say Gough then struck the mother in the face, which caused her to fall to the floor.

Police records state that Gough then picked up a gun and the mother began to struggle with with Gough for control of the gun.

Authorities say Gough was able to get control of the weapon. He allegedly then fired a shot into the floor of the home near the victims. Officials say the victims left the residence. Gough also reportedly left the home with the gun.

Police say a third person was inside the home at the time of the incident.

Investigators say the mother suffered pain and swelling to her face, left thumb, left knee and backside.

Gough is charged with assault, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday.
