Police looking for hit-and-run driver after teen hit crossing street in Okolona

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit a 14-year-old Southern High School student as he was crossing the street in Okolona.

Police say it happened a little after 7 a.m. at Larry Lane and Cooper Avenue off Preston Highway near the Outer Loop. The victim was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say say the driver stopped briefly to help the victim, but then drove away. 

Police say they are looking for a black SUV.  Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 574-LMPD.
