Kentucky State Penitentiary inmate stabbed multiple times

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An inmate at Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville was stabbed multiple times by another inmate Thursday morning, according to a news release.

It happened in a general population dormitory, just before 9 a.m. eastern time.

Authorities say 46-year-old Sean Noakes stabbed 58-year-old Herbert Eades multiple times in the dormitory. Eades was transported by ambulance to the Caldwell Medical Center, and was listed in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon, according to the release.

Noakes is serving a life sentence for murder and criminal attempt to commit murder, according to the release. His charges originate from Boone County, Kentucky.

Authorities say Eades is serving a life sentence for sodomy and first degree sexual abuse. His charges originate out of Ohio County, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police is investigating, according to the news release, and criminal charges are pending the outcome of that investigation. Noakes has also been segregated from the general population and will also face administrative charges.
