BOZICH | UK unanimous #1; U of L advances to #9; Who's #2 in AP Poll?

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – There hasn't been much drama at the top of the Associated Press college basketball Top 25 poll for most of the season. Actually, there hasn't been any.

There have been some weeks when John Calipari's Kentucky team earned all 65 first-place votes – and several weeks when that has not been the situation.

The Wildcats returned to unanimity Monday -- 65 for 65. That was ensured when Virginia came from ahead to lose a home game to Duke on Saturday.

The big question in the new poll:

Who's Number Two?

I posed the question to readers at WDRB.com Sunday night – and the competition was tight between Virginia and Gonzaga. (You can vote at this link.)

WDRB voters preferred Virginia. AP voters gave the second spot to Gonzaga. At 1 p.m., the Cavaliers were earning 32 percent of the votes and the Zags 30 percent. Duke was fourth with 18 percent.

I made it Virginia second, Gonzaga third and Duke fourth on my ballot.

Louisville advanced one spot from 10th to ninth after winning at Boston College and then defeating North Carolina. The Cards jumped past Notre Dame, which lost to Pittsburgh.

Indiana tumbled out of the poll after losing to Purdue. The Hoosiers, now 16-6, are ranked 29th.

Here is the entire poll:
