LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville EMT injured in a fatal crash last summer has returned to work.
Jon Johnson and another EMT were involved in a crash on June 23, 2014, on River Road. The ambulance collided with a car turning onto River Road, near Frankfort Avenue.
The driver of the car was killed. The two EMT's were seriously hurt.
On Monday, Johnson was finally back on the job at Louisville Metro EMS. He says after nearly eight months away, he was nervous, but ready to go back.
"It's been so long since I've been on the ambulance, it's just a matter of coming back and making sure everything's together and making sure I'm ready," said Johnson.
Johnson has been with Louisville Metro EMS for 10 years.
John Morgan, the other EMT who was injured, had his leg amputated after the crash. He is still recovering.
