LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The LMPD bomb squad was called to Louisville Metro Corrections late Monday after an explosive device was found on an inmate as she was being booked into jail for a probation violation, authorities say.

According to the arrest report, corrections officers found a "live blasting cap with wires attached" in the belongings of 26-year-old Andrea C. Wilcox around 7 p.m. on Feb. 2.

The LMPD bomb squad was called, but no other explosives or weapons were found.

A detective confiscated the blasting cap.

Wilcox now faces two additional charges of promoting contraband and possessing/distributing explosives without a permit. She's being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
