LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man authorities say fired several gunshots and wounded his girlfriend.

Ronnie Moore, 28, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 600 block of Industry Road, near South 7th Street in the Algonquin neighborhood.

Police say he fired a weapon on Sunday evening and that one of the shots hit his girlfriend in the arm. According to police records, the shooting happened in the 400 block of West Court at the Beecher Terrace complex.

Authorities say both Moore and the victim were under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the incident.

Police state the incident started over an argument about drugs. Officials say Moore's girlfriend took an ecstasy pill from him.

Official records state Moore was told to leave the residence. Investigators say that as he was nearing the door, he turned around, pulled out a gun and fired 3-6 shots at the victim. One of the shots hit the victim in the arm.

Police say there were also three others inside the home at the time of the shooting, though none of them were injured. The victim was treated for her wound at U of L Hospital.

Moore gave a taped statement to police in which he said he was, "sorry that the whole thing happened."

Moore is charged with assault, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
