LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- This year's theme for Thunder over Louisville has been announced, and it's: "Boom, With a View."

From the air show to the fireworks, the Kentucky Derby Festival is geared up and ready for another spectacular show.

Festival President and CEO Mike Berry says selecting a theme is a group effort -- and it's not always easy. Last year, they had the 25th anniversary to play off of for the theme. But this year, they sat down with one important question.

"What is it about Thunder?" Berry asked. "Well, it's about hearing Thunder, it's about seeing Thunder and it's about feeling Thunder, because of the compression that you get. So we felt like, you know, play on 'room with a view.' 'Boom with a view' would do that to tell you about the boom that you hear, and you have the view of, but then, you also feel."

This year's air show will feature appearances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, as well as the U.S. Army's parachute team. A complete show schedule won't be released until closer to the April 18 show.

Berry also announced there are some changes to the McDonald's Thunder Funder program. Those details have yet to be announced.
