LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Nelson County Sheriff's Department, along with the Bardstown City Police in Nelson County, Kentucky, investigated a report of a student planning to blow up an area school Tuesday, but that report ended up being a prank, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office says Nelson County dispatchers received the call from an anonymous person who claimed that a student at Nelson County Baptist School was in possession of a gun and a bomb and was planning on blowing up and shooting up the school just before classes ended for the day.

Emergency crews responded, but later discovered that the call was a prank, according to the spokesperson.

Authorities say that a student at the school conspired with an unidentified person on the Internet to make the phone call in order to implicate another student.

The name of the student responsible for that conspiracy is being withheld because that student is a juvenile.
