LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville Metro Corrections employee after a female inmate accused him of sexual assault.

According to the arrest report, the victim told police 29-year-old Jonathon Aikin "entered the bathroom where she was the only occupant and forced her to perform oral sex on him."

Police say Aikin told them in a taped statement that the sex was consensual.

Aikin was arrested around 2 a.m. Thursday. He's now facing charges of first degree sodomy and official misconduct.

After Aikin's arrest, Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Director Mark Bolton, released the following statement:

"All Metro Corrections employees receive multi-layer training to avoid inmate sexual encounters. Metro Corrections has placed great emphasis in training to make sure that everyone here knows that no sexual encounter with an inmate is consensual. Any employee choosing to violate such standards will be exposed, investigated, fired and face criminal charges."

Bolton says Officer Aikin has been employed by Metro Corrections since November 30, 2012 and was placed on administrative leave without pay, effective Feb. 5, 2015.

A criminal investigation has been initiated by the Louisville Metro Police Department's Public Integrity Unit as well as an administrative investigation opened within Louisville Metro Department of Corrections' Professional Standards Unit.
