LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Matthews Police say a man recently skipped out on his rent at his apartment -- and what he left behind paints a trail of child pornography that may go all the way back to the 1980s.

Police say a cleaning crew found four pornographic images of children in the bedroom of the Mallgate of St. Matthews apartment that was formerly occupied by 45-year-old Houston Lee Robertson, Jr.

Robertson left in Nov. 2014, skipping out on his rent, according to police. He was arrested in Pitt County, North Carolina and brought back to Louisville last month.

"I'd rather not say exactly what Mr. Robertson has told me, but it definitely leads me to believe we need to talk to some more victims," said St. Matthews Det. Jeff May.

Police are asking those potential victims to come forward. They say the disturbing child pornography images possibly go as far back as the 1980's through as recently as last year.

"We believe that this could range anywhere from an 18-year-olds down possibly to a 2 or 3-year-old," Det. May said.

Detectives haven't been able to identify anyone in the pictures, and say many of them would now be adults. They don't whether they were downloaded, or if Robertson, Jr. snapped them himself.

Police say victims may also better recognize the second picture of Robertson, Jr., seen at right. It's from the 1990s, when he appeared much more clean cut.

"We know that Mr. Robertson lived in Louisville, Taylor County, Kentucky, and in North Carolina," Det. May said. "There was a period of time where he was also homeless."

Robertson, Jr. is in jail in Louisville today, facing four counts of possession of matter portraying a minor engaged in a sex act.
