LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Patriotism and harmony hit a high note at the Kentucky Music Educators convention in Louisville.
Dozens of high school students from around the state gathered around the 18-story atrium at Louisville's downtown Hyatt Regency to sing the National Anthem. The sound of all those young voices coming together is an annual tradition. Many of the students are in the All-State choirs.
Each night before curfew, they gather on their balconies to sing the Star-Spangled Banner. Cindy Vivona was so inspired when she heard them sing four years ago that she returns to hear it each year.
"It's just the most amazing thing ever to watch these young people, and they're so talented," Vivona said. "And you just get goose bumps when you hear them sing."
The KMEA Conference ends Saturday.
