LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana residents will have to dial three more numbers when making local calls.

Starting on Saturday, you'll have to use the 812 area code when placing a call. That covers the southern third of the state.

The change is needed to get ready for the new 930 area code that will also be used in the same area.

New telephone lines and services may be assigned numbers with the new 930 area code starting next month.
