LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Five Radioshack stores in Louisville and one in Clarksville, Ind. are among more than 1,700 nationwide locations listed for “potential” closure as part of the electronics chain's petition for bankruptcy protection.

The local stores are:

Green Tree Mall, 757 Lewis and Clark Parkway, Clarksville, Ind.

Dixie Valley Center, 10379 Dixie Highway, Louisville

6511 Bardstown Road, Louisville

Townfair Center, 1939 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville

Middletown Station, 12935 Shelbyville Rd #107, Louisville

Southland Terrace, 3927 7th Street Rd., Louisville

On Thursday, Radioshack said it would sell about half of 4,000 company-owned U.S. stores to Standard General L.P. The five stores above are among the remaining locations slated to be liquidated. Still other Radioshack locations are owned by independent franchisees.

“We will know in the near future exactly which stores are closing. Stores are expected to close over the coming weeks,” Radioshack says on its website.
