LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Crime scene tape is still wrapped around trees and hanging in yards on Adrienne Way. It's a reminder of what happened Saturday when officers were called to the neighborhood near Shively for a triple shooting.

"It was a nice day so I had my front door open," says one woman who lives on the block.

She didn't want to be identified, but told WDRB News what she saw around the time of the shooting.

"We had noticed three juveniles walking through the side here which is not unusual because it is a cut-through," she said.

She says she then watched the three teens walk behind a vacant home on the block. Around the same time, a car backed into a neighbor's driveway.

"But then we heard what we thought were three to five noises that sounded like fire crackers," the woman said. "I thought it was those boys just playing around."

The woman says next, she saw two people running down the street and noticed someone lying on the ground near her home.

"I yelled, 'What is he doing laying on the ground?' And we all ran outside, and that's when we did see the victim lying there. He did have a gunshot wound to the head," she said.

At the time, the woman didn't know that two other teens were also shot in the area. Police say the male victims are between 15 and 19 years old.

Two were left in critical condition, and authorities said the third didn't survive.

"As a mother, it's very, very, ya know, very sad," the woman said. "No matter what the circumstances was, I was hoping he would make it through."

The woman says there was a gun near the victim's body and the empty car parked at the neighbor's was later picked up by police. Officers say there was some sort of fight before the shooting.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 574-LMPD.
