LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An LMPD officer who had been accused of assaulting a suspect was found not guilty Monday.

Officer Jennifer Knopf was facing two charges: official misconduct and harassment with physical contact.

It all stemmed from a shoplifting case at the K-Mart on Poplar Level Road last June.

Knopf was accused of kicking a suspect in the chest, who was handcuffed and seated.

Her trial started on Friday and the jury returned a not guilty verdict Monday.

LMPD previously suspended her police powers and placed her on administrative duty.

A spokesman says the Professional Standards Unit is still investigating.
