LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident involving a TARC bus Wednesday morning, according to a MetroSafe dispatcher.

Officials say the accident happened Wednesday morning in the 3400 block of West Broadway and Louis Coleman Jr. Drive. The accident was reported at around 8:10 a.m.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the TARC bus was traveling east on West Broadway in the right-hand lane, when the driver of a dark-colored vehicle tried to merge into the right lane in front of the bus, to make a right turn onto Louis Coleman Jr. Drive.

Authorities say that's when the bus struck the vehicle.

Mitchell says seven bus passengers were examined for injuries at multiple hospitals, but there were no serious injuries reported.

No charges are expected to be filed in connection with the accident.
