Indiana education officials say schools need to be prepared to administer longer standardized exam

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A 12-hour test may be in the future for Indiana students.

The Indiana Department of Education says schools need to be ready to give the ISTEP+ exam in its current form.

Governor Mike Pence issued an executive order Monday requiring a shorter exam.

A board meeting scheduled for Friday will discuss ways to do reduce the time of the test.

A state school official says the longer test is needed to meet requirements.
