Facebook's new 'legacy contact' will allow page maintenance after user death

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Facebook...from the grave? There's now a built-in way to keep your page going after you aren't anymore.

The social media site is now encouraging users to find someone to run your page after you die.

That person is called a legacy contact.

They can post on your behalf, add new friends and update profile pictures.

But they aren't allowed to log into your account or change your posts.

The contact can be named in your security settings.
