LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Metro Council elected Steve Magre to fill the vacant District 10 seat Thursday night.

District 10's seat has been vacant since former Metro Council President Jim King passed away in January.

Magre was one of nine candidates who interviewed for the position, he was an alderman on the old City of Louisville Board of Alderman before the merger.

The new councilman took the oath of office shortly after the election.
