LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - It's still winter, but young adults around Louisville are already planning for spring and summer.

Many spent Saturday looking for jobs at the "Mayor's Youth Opportunity Showcase" at the convention center downtown.

The event was basically a job fair for those between the ages of 16 and 21.

More than 1,000 positions were up for grabs from 40 different employers, including Kentucky Kingdom, The Louisville Zoo, Norton Healthcare, Kroger and UPS.

"The great thing is that there's so many young people that want to take the initiative to build their own lives, and that's really the most rewarding thing," Congressman John Yarmuth said.
