Western Kentucky University temporarily closes Pearce Ford Tower due to power outage

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Western Kentucky University has closed one its dorms for a few days due to a power outage.

In a statement sent to residents of Pearce Ford Tower (PFT), the university is asking them “to make alternate arrangements to spend the next two nights with a friend on campus, friend in the community, or family member.”

The school says 24-hour visitation will be in effect for all dorm buildings for the next two nights to allow affected residents to stay elsewhere while PFT is closed.

The school will also keep Preston Center and Downing Student Union open all night.

From the statement:

All PFT residents, please notify the housing staff of your plans during this time, by:
  1. Stopping by the PFT front desk, or
  2. Calling 270-745-3143
Tomorrow (Wed. 2/18) if you should need to pick up any belongings, PFT front desk will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
